PAULINE R. MEEK died September 16, 2010 at Mercy Health Center College Ave,
Manhattan, KS at the age of 93. She was born on March 10, 1917 in Miltonvale Kansas, the
daughter of George and Fannie (Smith) Palmer. Pauline was raised in the Miltonvale community
and graduated from Miltonvale Rural High School in 1935. She attended Miltonvale Wesleyan
College and Kansas State University. Pauline taught at a country school in Ottawa County for
two years. She married Milo Meek on November 6, 1940 and he preceded her in death on
October 22, 1997. She was a published author of several children's books, magazine articles and
Sunday School curricula. She served as Director of Christian Education at the First Presbyterian
Church in Clay Center from 1970 to 1974. She was a member of the Idana Presbyterian Church,
Idana Animas Club, Clay County Historical Society a foster parent and volunteered for CASA.
Pauline was also preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret and two sisters.

Son: Tom and his wife, Nancy Meek, Clay Center, KS
Grandchildren: 11 Grandchildren & 20 Great-grandchildren
Sister: Dorothy Nickels, St George, UT
Son-In-Law: Keith Meredith, Tucson, AZ
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Idana
Presbyterian Church in Idana, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers.
Burial will be at the Idana Cemetery, Idana, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on 2-5PM Sunday at the Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from
3-5PM.
Memorials can be made to Idana Presbyterian Church or Clay Co. Spelling Bee Scholarship in
care of the funeral home.
