CLAY CENTER---Raymond Orr, 82, died Saturday, Jan. 13,
2007, at Clay County Medical Center.
Mr. Orr was born May 29, 1924, at Clay Center, the son of James Leroy and Jennie (Paulicheck) Orr.
He graduated from CCCHS in 1942 and attended Pittsburgh State
University. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He married
Dorothy Ann Smith on Sept. 15, 1945. She preceded him in
death on March 15, 2002. He worked for WW Smith and Sons. He
opened a furniture store in the late 1950's and moved to it's
current location it was named Orr's Furniture City. He was a
member of the First Presbyterian Church, past member of the
city council, past president of the Clay Center Area Chamber
of Commerce and past president of the Jaycees. He was also
preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond Jerome "Jerry" Orr and
wife Joan of Clay Center and Randy Orr and wife Francis of
Clay Center; one daughter, Nancy Fletcher and husband Raymond
"Doc" of Overland Park; eight grandchildren; and six great-
grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the
First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center with the Rev. James
Byers officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay
Center.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Neill-
Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
