Raymond Robinson

RAYMOND ROBINSON died March 28, 2011 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS at the age of 86. Raymond was born on April 22, 1924 in Wakefield Kansas, the son of John A. and Edith (Roberts) Robinson. Raymond was raised in the Wakefield area and attended Wakefield schools. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Florene Lippe on July 25, 1945 and she preceded him in death on April 21, 1988. Raymond worked in grain elevator construction and later was a truck driver for various companies and also independently. After he moved to Clay Center he worked as a residential home builder. He was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Clay Center, the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clayton. Survivors include: Son: Ronald and his wife, Jody Robinson, Topeka, KS Daughter: Robin and her husband, Jim Johnson, New Cambria, KS 3 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren Brother: Dana and his wife, Jewel Robinson, Clay Center, KS Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11:00AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Raymond Robinson Memorial Fund to be designated later by the family and sent in care of the funeral home.
