Renley Byrd

Renley John Byrd was born to Horace and Bessie (Smith) Byrd on October 28, 1927 in Lula, Oklahoma. Renley was a graduate of Lula High School. He joined the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War as an aircraft mechanic. Renley married Mary Wheaton on April 19, 1954, she preceded him in death on October 8, 2015. He worked as a aircraft mechanic for Boeing Aircraft and Lear Jet in Wichita for 39 years. He and Mary moved to Clifton from Clearwater in 2006. Renley was a member of the Clifton American Legion and an avid gardener.  He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Mary Slater, brothers; R.E., Harold, Kenneth, Travis, Benny and Doyce, sisters; Essie Woolie, Vella Reed, Allie Loveless, Ila Hill and JoAnn Palmer.

Daughter: Julia Byrd of Towanda, KS

3 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren

Funeral Services: Friday , December 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, KS

Minister: Pastor Herb Mugler

Burial: Clifton I.O.O.F Cemetery

Visitation: Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 4-7 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home
