REV. HENRY WAGONER, 89 died November 18, 2015 in Wichita, KS. He was born on August 10, 1926 in Elkhart, KS, the son of Hank and Dorothy (Percival) Wagoner. Henry served in the US Army during WWII. Henry married Eleanora Posey on September 23, 1947.
Henry and wife, Eleanora were converted and became followers of Christ Jesus. In 1951, Henry felt God’s call into the ministry. He attended Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany OK. 1952-56. His youngest was 8 days old on the first day of school. At graduation…the 4 children’s ages were 3, 4, 5, 7. He served at a small congregational church while at BNC, as well as preaching at the OKLA City jail.
A 3rd generation concrete contractor, Henry’s knowledge of concrete, plastering, bricklaying, and sheetrock came in handy. He did such kind of work around the college campus to pay his school tuition. As a result, he graduated from BNC with a seminary degree…debt free.
Henry, with his wife served at 3 Kansas Nazarene churches in Concordia, Severy and Hoisington. The family then moved to Fall City, NE where he served at the Bethel EUB Church for 3 years. His longest pastorate was 11 years at Rose Valley EUB in Down KS. – Which later united with the Methodist. Other Kansas Methodist churches he served before his retirement to Clay Center KS in 1989 - Hays and Ebenezer; Clyde and Agenda; and Logan.
In retirement, Henry and Eleanora made many trips to Costa Rica, serving in work camps there using his concrete skills to build parsonages and churches. Henry made two trips to Guatemala with his son’s Medical team and became a blessing to all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Eleanora preceded him in death on September 24, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Kelly Gros and brother, Virgil Wagoner.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 11am 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, KS
