RICHARD “BUD” SCRIPTER died January 22, 2013 at Good Shepard Hospice House,
Manhattan, KS at the age of 79.
Richard was raised in the Longford Community, graduating from Longford
High School in 1951. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean War,
serving as a radar technician and in the honor guard while stationed in
Germany. Richard married Dorothy Bemis on July 6, 1954 in Warren, MI.
Richard established Longford Mill Products, Inc. with his father and
brother, Don. He was a member of the Lions Club, Elks Lodge, American
Legion, lifetime member of the VFW, Superior Public Schools School board,
and the American Dehydrator Organization. Richard is preceded in death by
a son, Donald, a sister, Lois Winston, his parents Brothers-in-law Jack
Winston and Wayne Botz.
