Richard Schreefer

RICHARD CHARLES SCHREEFER died July 1, 2008 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 81. He was born on June 4, 1927 in Upland, Kansas the son of Harline Schreefer and Clara Sautter. He was raised in the Upland community. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He married May Adams on April 20, 1948. He farmed and raised livestock north of Clay Center and then in the Wakefield comunity. He worked at Ft. Riley for many years. May preceded him in death on March 21, 1999. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and BPOE in Clay Center and the Wakefield VFW. He is also preceded by a son, Gregory in 1963, 1 brother and 1 sister. Survivors include: Son: Mark and wife Gwyn Schreefer, Wakefield, KS Daughter: Lana and and husband Mick Stoddard, Manhattan, KS Daughter: Sue and husband Bevin Bebermeyer, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 9 Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Clay Center, Kansas . Officiating the service will be The Rev. Susan Sawyer. Burial will be at the St. John Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 2-5 PM Friday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to St Paul's Episcopal Church c/o the funeral home
