Rita Alexander

Rita F. Alexander, 95 of Clifton, Kansas died Saturday March 16, 2024, at the Presbyterian Manor in Clay Center, Kansas.

She was born May 6, 1928, to Henry and Veronica (Eckart) Ruhkamp in Marysville, Kansas.  She attended St. John's Catholic School in Hanover, Kansas.  She was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Clifton, Kansas.

She married Lawrence (Bus) Alexander on November 4, 1947, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hanover, Kansas. To this union 7 children were born.  Rita was a housewife and homemaker.  She loved to crochet, quilting, sewing, playing cards, loved to cook, and baked for different events and organizations and family get togethers and a mean coconut cream pie and cinnamon rolls to die for.  She enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Alter Society and the Clifton American Legion Auxiliary.

Rita is survived by Kathleen (Jerry) Sorell of Clyde, Kansas, David (Linda) Alexander of Kerrville, Texas, Ronald (Nancy) Alexander Emporia, Kansas, Danial Alexander of Salina, Kansas, Dennis (Carol) Alexander of Clifton, Kansas, Cynthia (Randy) Dugan of El Dorado, Kansas, Phyllis (Lowell) Reith of Salina, Kansas, and one sister in law Nan Alexander of Sahse, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and Numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death of her husband Lawrence (Bus), her parents Henry and Veronica Ruhkamp, sisters Lela Moravek and Delores Kieffer and 2 grandsons Joe Sorell and Treff Alexander.

Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clifton, Kansas. The Rosary will be recited at 6PM.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 22, 2024, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clifton, Kansas. You may watch the service by clicking the link provided, Neill-Schwensen-Rook.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Alter Society, Clifton American Legion Auxiliary or Clifton Ambulance Service and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
