Robert Gobat of St. Cloud, Minnesota {formally of Salina, Kansas} passed away March 5, 2019 due to complications with pneumonia. Keeping with his wishes, cremation rites have taken place and his final resting place will be beside his mother in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Robert Gobat was born October 8, 1947 in Salina, Kansas. The son of Robert Arthur Gobat Sr. and Marcelle Fowler {Carter}. He served in the Army from June 16, 1966 to May 31, 1968. Robert marred Elizabeth Skrukrud {Goude} in March of 2005.
Robert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Gobat. Sisters: Nancy Meyn and Carol Duhon. Children; Kathy, Robert, James, Janelle, Hank, William, and Stephen of Everette, Washington. Stepchildren; Latisha, Sandy, and Dale of Brainard, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Robert Gobat Sr., James Carter, and his mother Marcelle Carter.
Robert served in Vietnam, returned home with injuries, but was always respectful of the Military and the Country he served. His favorite saying was "If called upon to do it again and it helped keep my loved ones save and my country free I would go in a heartbeat."
Robert enjoyed collecting hats, old western movies, taking long walks, motorcycle riding and the cozy comfort of home life.
