Robert King

ROBERT G. KING died September 9, 2010 at Mercy Health Center, Manhattan, KS at the age of 88. He was born on September 28, 1921 in Clay County, KS the son of George King and Clara Sanneman. Robert was raised in the Garfield Center Community in Clay County. He married Evelyn Bertrand on September 26, 1942. They farmed in the Garfield Center Community before moving to Clay Center in 1984. Robert was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and past president of the COOP Board. He is preceded in death by a brother and sister. Survivors include: Wife: Evelyn King, Clay Center, KS Son: Greg and wife Dorrene King, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Daree and husband Lemuel James, Clay Center, KS Son: Rodney and wife Linda King, Gilbert, AZ Daughter: Monisa Gibbs, Topeka, KS Sister: Suzanne Hauserman, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 11 Grand and 17 Great-grand Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to Robert King Memorial Fund c/o the funeral home
