Rodney Knitter

RODNEY ALLEN KNITTER died July 8, 2010 at Dickinson County Kansas, , KS at the age of 61. He was born on June 30, 1949 in Clay Center, Kansas the son of Walter Knitter Jr. and Doris Black. Rodney was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1967. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Beloit Vo-Tech with a degree in carpentry and cabinet making. He married Dee Liby on June 27, 1970, they later divorced. Rodney worked for Wayne Carlson, Cheney Construction, Gilmore-Tatge, Hutchinson Manufacturing and 17 years for Wardcraft Homes, serving as plant manager. He was a member of the American Legion, BPOE and the Clay Center Country Club. He is preceded in death by his mother. Survivors include: Daughter: Deedra and husband John Straub, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Ashley Knitter, Clay Center, KS Son: Brent and wife Amber Knitter, Moore, OK Father: Walter Knitter, Jr., Clay Center, KS Brother: Robert and wife Frieda Knitter, Clay Center, KS Sister: Janice and husband Chuck Dunn, Clay Center, KS Brother: Jeff and wife Sondy Knitter, Abilene, KS Grandchildren: 7 Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to Rodney Knitter Memorial Fund c/o the funeral home
