Roland L. Young

ROLAND L. "Runt" YOUNG died December 13, 2007 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the age of 84. Runt was born on August 29, 1923 in Clay Center Kansas, the daughter of Phillip Young, Sr. and Maye Harbaugh. He grew up in the Morganville area and attended country schools. He graduated from CCCHS in 1941. He farmed and lived in the Morganville area until moving to Clay Center in 2003. On May 9, 1943 he married Mary Johnson in Clay Center. She survives of the home. He served as A.S.C. County Committeeman for 10 years, was a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Morganville School Board, Clay Center Elks Club, and a charter member of the Morganville Lions Club. He is preceded by 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Survivors include: Wife: Mary Young, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Carolyn Garwood, Morganville, KS Daughter: Ronda Lloyd, Clay Center, KS 5 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 14 from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home with family to greet friends from 3-5pm. Memorials can be made to St. Paul's Episcopal church in care of the funeral home.
