Roma Riek

ROMA GEVENE RIEK, 84 died June 19, 2014 at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, KS. She was born on September 3, 1929 in Concordia, KS. The daughter of Walter and Ortensia (Bouldin) Liby. Roma married Donald Riek on February 21, 1961. They made their home in California, Nevada and Colorado before moving to Clay Center. Later, they moved to Canyon City, CO. Roma worked as a clerk at Buchman's Jewelry and Mayo's in Clay Center and at JC Penney in both Clay Center and Canyon City. After retiring, they returned to Clay Center in 1993. Donald preceded her in death on June 6, 2011. She was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church, BPOE, BPW and a Red Cross Volunteer. Roma enjoyed playing dominos and cards, camping and watching he grandchildren participate in sports and school activities. She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Chuck Carlson and a brother, Ronald Liby. Survivors: Son: Alan and wife Kathy Carlson, Eudora, KS Daughter: Terri and husband Brent Snyder, Wichita, KS Daughter: Rita and husband Ross Alexander, Greeley, CO Son: Dennis and wife Arlene Riek, Clay Center, KS 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 3-8 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home Memorials: St. Paul Lutheran Church or American Red Cross c/o the funeral home
