RUBY EDNA CARLSON died July 4, 2007 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 87. RUBY EDNA CARLSON was born on November 13, 1919 in Clay County Kansas, the daughter of Benjamin Oard and MAbel Kissling. Ruby was raised in the Industry, Kansas area. She graduated from Longford High School in 1938. Ruby married Elmo Carlson on December 24, 1942 and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1998. She was a past member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church and Longford United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Mizpah United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include: Son: Gary and his wife, Diane Carlson, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Barbara and her husband, Fran Stowell, Olathe, KS Sister: Bonnie Slingsby, Clay Center, KS Sister: Garnet Ferguson, Abilene, KS Brother: Rudy Oard, Wakefield, KS Brother: Clifford Oard, Topeka, KS Grandchildren: 5 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 10:00 am at the Mizpah United Methodist Church in Wakefield, Kansas. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 p.m. Friday at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center. Memorials can be made to Wakefield United Methodist Church or Mizpah United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
