Ruth Segers

RUTH SEGERS, 74 died August 31, 2015 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. She was born on January 16, 1941 in Clay Center, KS, the daughter of Charles, Sr. and Elsie (Harris) Woods. Ruth was raised in the Broughton and Green communities. She graduated from CCCHS in 1959. She married Jerry Heffington in 1962, they later divorced. Ruth attended Crum's Beauty College in Manhattan. She later married Ron Segers in 1977 and they later divorced. Ruth worked as a welder at Gilmore Tatge and Hutchinson Mayrath for 27 years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clay Center. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rosemary Woods. Survivors: Daughter: Brenda Heffington Bowden and husband Anthony Bowden, Puyallup, WA Son: Jeffery Heffington, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Crystal and husband Tyce Young, Clay Center, KS 8 Grandchildren and 1 Greatgrandchild Brother: Charles Woods, Jr. Topeka, KS Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Pastor Ryan Lynch Burial will be in the Broughton Cemetery, Clay County, KS Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 from 3-8 PM the family will greet friends from 5-6:30 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home Memorials: Big Lakes Developmental Center c/o the funeral home
