Sara Frances Fyfe died July 28, 2008 at Golden Living Center, Wakefield, KS at the age of 88. Sara Frances Fyfe was born on May 19, 1920 in Albertville, Alabama the daughter of Adolph and Edith (Robinson) Pate. She grew up and attended schools in Albertville, Alabama, graduating from high school in 1939. She attended business college in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After business school she worked in Washington, D.C. as a civil servant for the Army Munitions Department at the Pentagon. She married Stanley Fyfe on February 23, 1946 in Washington, D.C. The couple moved to Kansas in 1947 and she continued to work for the Army at the Irwin Army Hospital at Fort Riley for fifteen years. Stanley preceded her in death on April 6, 1998. She was a member of the Madura Cingregational Church where she was a Deaconess. She was also a past member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was also preceded in death by her brother. Survivors include: Son: Robert and wife, Stella Fyfe, Lawrence, KS Daughter: Carol Ann Fyfe, San Francisco, CA Grandchildren: 1 Grandson Sister: Amy Donahue, Arlington, VA Sister: Nell Stolarz, Ft. Washington, MD Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Madura Congregational Church in Wakefield, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Todd Britt. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, Kansas. Visitation will be held on There will be no respect calls. Viewng will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until service time. Memorials can be made to may be made to the Golden Living Center of Wakefield in care of the funeral home.
