Sharon Kay Reed

SHARON KAY REED, 66 died May 17, 2014 at Stoneybrook Retirement Community in Manhattan, KS. She was born on October 11, 1947 in Clay Center, KS. The daughter of Leo, Sr. and Madonna (Thorman) Reed. Sharon grew up in Clifton, Kansas and graduated from Clifton High School in 1965. She married Donald "Chip" Gennett II and they lived in several places due to her husband's military service. They moved back to Clifton in the late 1970's. She later divorced. She worked as a secretary for the Clifton school system and later was a bookkeeper for Babe Houser Auto in Concordia, Ks.. She was a member of Faith United Church Presbyterian in Clifton and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was preceded by her parents and 1 brother Donald. Survivors: Daughter: Brenda and husband Tom Pendleton, Ft. riley, KS Son: Christopher Gennett, Wichita, KS Brother: Leo Reed, Jr., Clifton, KS Sister-In-Law: Trudy Reed, Clifton, KS Grandchildren: 4 grand and 5 great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10:30am at the Faith United Church Presbyterian in Clifton, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor FrankLyn Schroeder. Burial will be in the Riverdale Cemetery, Clay County, KS Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Turner Funeral Home.
