Stanley Duane Kent

d. May 8, 2018

Stanley Duane Kent was born on May 2, 1937 to George Raymond Kent and Olga Mae (Miles) Kent in a farm house in rural Clay County.  Stanley attended Victor, a one room school house until the eighth grade, and later on in life completed his GED.  Stanley was raised on the family farm and stayed  there his entire life.   He attended Big Lake Developmental Workshop for around 30 years.    Stanley was an animal lover and was excited to hold the family’s new puppy shortly after he turned 81. Stanley was an avid reader and enjoyed telling anyone who would listen all about the presidents.  However, his true enjoyment was learning more about the bible.  He knew where many scripture verses were in the bible and loved telling others interesting facts about the bible. Stanley was like a blue rose; he was delicate and treasured in his families eyes.  He may have had some handicaps, but he was a treasure in their eyes. Stanley was taken care of by his brother Wayne, sister-in-law Sherry, and his family.  Stanley’s great niece, JaelAnn, held a very special spot in his heart.  JaelAnn helped take care of him in later years and the bond was even greater.  He kept telling her she was going places and he was proud of her.  She could always get a hug from him and a twinkle in his eyes. Stanley was preceded in death by his loving parents and grandparents.  Survivors include, brothers Wayne Kent (Sherry) and Jim Kent (Mary Jane), Niece Heather Hoover (Mike), Nephew Douglas Kent (Lorraine ), and Niece Nancy Kent, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Respect calls will be from 9:00 am  until time of service on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Madura Congregational Church in Wakefield, Kansas. Service will be at 10:00 am May 14, at the Madura Congregational Church.   In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Madura Congregational Church.  Burial will be at the Highlands Cemetery in Wakefield, Kansas.
