Stanley G Ohlde, 76 died June 1, 2026, in Manhattan, KS. He was born on May 31, 1950, in Clay Center, the son of Ernest and Hulda (Laue) Ohlde. Stan was the youngest of 3 children and raised south of Linn on the family farm. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church rural Palmer. He attended St John’s Lutheran grade school and was a graduate of Linn High School class of 1968. After high school, he attended Pittsburg State University for cabinet making and returned to Linn to work. He worked for Lavern Long Construction. Soon after moving back, he met the love of his life Marlene Meyer, and they were united in marriage on March 29, 1975. To this marriage 3 children were born Brett, Clayton, and Nicole. In 1978, Stan began working for Oetinger-Lloyd Construction. The family moved from Linn to Clay Center in 1983. Stan retired from Oetinger-Lloyd in 2016 after 38 years. Stan never met a stranger and left a loud impression full of memories and laughter. He was a man of many talents and was known for his hard work and expertise in woodworking. He made dressers, end tables and cedar chests for each of his grandchildren. He loved gardening, and made sauerkraut every year with his family. He loved hunting, fishing, and Nascar. Stan was a huge K-State fan and spent many hours following his kids and grandkids. Occasionally you could hear him from the bleachers. He enjoyed family cookouts and never passed up a pinochle game, or a chance to play cards. Stan never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with his coffee shop crew. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and served on the Tiger House board until 2022.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Jon.

Sister: Charlotte and husband Richard Voelker of Palmer, KS

9 Grandchildren Kinsey, and Kasey Ohlde, Ally and husband Zane Anderson, Ayla and Andyn Johnson, Deavon and Ian Ohlde, Dax and Cooper Johnson

1 Great Grandchild Levy Anderson

Funeral Services: 10:30 AM Friday, June 5, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, KS

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas

Visitation: 3-7 PM Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 5-7 PM

Memorials: Stan Ohlde Memorial Fund to be designated later c/o the funeral home
