Steven A Brond, 47, of Houston, TX, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, October 19, 2008.
Steve was born July 28, 1961 in Grand Forks, N.D., the son of James and Carol (Lala) Brown.
He was united in marriage to Denise Jean Hammond on September 2, 1995, in Clay Center, KS.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Hammond Brond and their two sons, Caden (7) and Colton (6) of Houston, Texas. Survivors also include his parents Jim and Carol Brown of Clay Center, KS, identical twin brother Michael and wife Barbara and children Jamie and Caleb, of Liberal, KS; his sister Kim and husband Doug Prideaux of Wichita, KS., and his grandmothers, Lona Lala and Geraldine Hammond. His wife’s parents Dale and Deanna Hammond, Denise’s brothers, Dwight and wife Debra Hammond, their children Ethan, Isaiah, and Elaina all of Clay Center KS; David and Debra Hammond and sons Kyle and Cory of Wichita KS, and many friends, and neighbors.
Steve graduated from Clay Center Community High School in 1980, and received his Finance Degree from Kansas State University in 1985. He has worked in Dallas, TX, Manhattan, KS, Boca Raton, FL. His most recent job was with Gulf States Toyota (FBS) in Houston, TX. as an insurance accountant.
Steve and his family are active members of Houston Northwest Baptist Church.
A memorial service was held on October 21, 2008 at Houston Northwest Baptist Church in Houston TX.
Visitation will be held on Friday October 24, 2008 from 3pm to 8 pm at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, 918 7th St., Clay Center, Kansas 67432.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday October 25, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church, 921 5th Street, Clay Center, KS. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
