STEVEN NOBLE WILLARD died January 15, 2013 at Salina Regional Health Center,
Salina, KS at the age of 63. Steve was born December 26th, 1949 in Concordia KS to Keith &
Glenda Willard. He spent his early childhood on the farm at “Willard’s Curve”. He then moved
to Salina KS, and graduated from Assaria High School . In 1975 he married Penny McNeil and
moved to Miltonvale, KS. He worked at “Willard Upholstery” and He ran the “Quality Oil” gas
station at the Junction of Hwy 24 and Hwy 81 for many years. After his gas station closed, he
opened up the “Road Worthy Cars” car lot in Concordia KS and in later years moved to Salina
KS to run a second location with his son, Ambrose. His last job was working as a Postal Carrier
for the Minneapolis Post Office. Throughout his different careers he always found time to raise
cattle and spend time with his family. For the past two years, he had been suffering from severe
health problems, but with his belief in Jesus being so strong it has given his family peace
knowing that we will see him again in heaven. He was never ashamed to tell anyone about Jesus.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Willard, one brother, Bruce Willard, one sister, Melodie
Willard, two sons, Don Willard & Ambrose Willard, one daughter, Kassie Mulligan married to
Thomas Mulligan of Clay Center, one grand-daughter Leslie Mulligan.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the F.C. Hill
Memorial Wesleyan Church in Miltonvale, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Pastor Mark Surbrook.
Burial will be at the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on 5-7 PM Friday at Phelps Funeral Home
