Theresa M Schwab

Theresa Mary (Hamel) (Deaver) Schwab was born on August 3, 1934 in Zurich, KS to Francis and Yvette (Favreau) Hamel. She attended school at St. Ann Grade School in Clyde, then graduated from Clyde High School. Theresa worked at Plaza Theater, Seldens' Grocery Store and Lynch Variety Store, while in high school. She also worked as a cook for Clifton School District for many years and janitor before retiring. After retirement, she worked at Clifton Nursing Home, Senior Citizen Center, cleaned for St. Marys Church and helped those in need. She married Leo Francis Deaver July 3, 1951, to which they had nine children; son Leon Deaver and wife Loleta of Concordia, KS; Roxanne Feuerbacher of Hiawatha KS; daughter Brenda and husband Gary Chaput of Leavenworth, KS; daughter Christine and husband Loren Charbonneau of Conroe, TX; Michelle and husband Rex Cowell of Manhattan, KS; daughter Carla and husband Rick Moore of Clyde, KS; daughter Francine and husband Curtis Ernst of Mankato, KS; son Daniel Deaver and wife Judy of Clifton KS; daughter Sharon and fiancé Lance Smith of Hays, KS. Leo Deaver passed away on September 29, 1973. On June 6 1977, Theresa married Daryl Lee Schwab; to which they had one child, Yvette. Yvette and husband Victor Urbaniak reside in Williston, ND.  Theresa has 26 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, 16 step-greatgrandchildren. She has two stepchildren: Carol Thomas of Katy TX; Beverly Schwab of Gafford, TX. Daryl also preceded her in death. Additional survivors include brother John Hamel, Concordia, KS; sister Rita Salmon, Anadarko, OK; sister, Mary Ann Morris, AL; sister, Pauline and husband Francis Ouellette, San Jose, CA and sister, Kathleen and husband Dennis Ouellette, Clay Center, KS. Theresa was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Alter Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ernest Hamel and stepson, Dean Schwab. Funeral Services: Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clifton, Kansas Burial: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clifton, KS Visitation: Friday, December 9, 5-7 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clifton with rosary at 6:30PM Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St. Mary's Cemetery Fund in c/o the funeral home.
