Twilla Cowell

TWILA MARIE COWELL died February 25, 2007 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the age of 91. TWILA MARIE COWELL was born on December 10, 1915 in Wakefield, Kansas the daughter of Wilmer Shivers and Minnie Siemers. She was raised in the Wakefield area and graduated from Wakefield High School. She attended Brown's Business College and worked for the Wakefield School District. She married Arthur Cowell on October 21, 1938 in Topeka, KS and he preceded her on December 5, 2006. She was a member of the First Baptist Church were she served as secretary for the sunday school program for 14 years, Board of Trustees and the Evangelism Board. She was a Lioness, Cub Scout Den Mother and past president of the Lincoln School PTA. She is also preceded by 2 brothers. Survivors include: Son: Rodney and wife Nancy Cowell, Cottonwood , Arizona Grandchildren: 1 Grandson & 1 Great-Granddaughter Brother: Forest Shivers, Wakefield, Kansas Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Brian High. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1 from 3-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church or Meadowlark Hospice c/o funeral home.
