Valeria Haas

VALERIA HAAS died March 6, 2012 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay Center, KS at the age of 89. VALERIA HAAS was born on August 12, 1922 in St. George, KS the daughter of Oscar Domeny and Georgia Chaffee. Valeria was raised in the Westmoreland and Wamego areas. She attended Manhattan High School and graduated from Westmoreland High School. She worked in a cafe in Belvue, KS. She married Francis W. Haas on February 21, 1943 and he preceded her on June 17, 1962. She was a member of the Longford United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Longford Senior Citizens, Study Club, and a former member of the Longford Library Board, EHU, Area Agency for Aging Election Board and a 4-H Leader. Survivors include: Daughter: Linda and husband Ronald Reed, Longford, KS Granddaughter: Michelle and husband Greg Ware, Longford, KS Great Grandsons: Grady, Gabe and Gavin Ware, Longford, KS Brother: Dale Domeny, Westmoreland, KS Sister: Valdimer Bairow, Wamego, KS Sister: Ruby Zeller, Wamego, KS Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Longford, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Brock. Burial will be at the Rose Meron Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8 from 3-8pm with family greeting friends from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to United Methodist Church of Longford, Longford Library or Clay Center Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund.
