EDWIN VANCE LUMB died May 19, 2009 at Stoneybrook Retirement Comm., Manhattan, KS at the age of 77. He was born on February 8, 1932 in Clay Center, Kansas the Son of Ted Lumb and Dee Keebler. He was raised in the Wakefield area and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1950. Following graduation Vance attended Washburn University in Topeka. He married Mariwilla Myers on September 15, 1951. He worked for Braniff Airlines in Wichita before moving to Wakefield in 1962. He then worked for the Fort Riley Post Engineers. After retiring in 1993 he and Mariwilla moved to Abilene. He is preceded in death by 1 brother, Gary. He was a member of the Abilene BPOE. Survivors include: Wife: Mariwilla Lumb, Abilene, KS Son: Brad Lumb, Houston, TX Daughter: Jackie and husband Jim Leatherman, Washington, DC Son: Greg and wife Deb Lumb, Junction City, KS Grandchildren: 2 Grandchild & 1 Great-grandchild Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Madura Congregational Church in Wakefield, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Todd Britt. There will be no visitation Memorials can be made to Wakefield Museum or Madura Congregational Church c/o the funeral home
