VELMA E. WILGERS died February 4, 2007 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 88. VELMA E. WILGERS was born on July 20, 1918 in Auburn, Nebraska the daughter of Elmer and Rose (Potard) Dankenbring. She was raised in the Palmer, KS area after moving there with her parents. She married Martin Wilgers on September 29, 1935. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1963. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Palmer. She is also preceded by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include: Son: Wendell and wife JoAnn Wilgers, Palmer, KS Son: Larry and wife Kathy Wilgers, Winfield, KS Son: Lyle and wife Elizabeth Wilgers, Sedalia, CO Son: Jan and wife Anne Wilgers, DeLand, FL Grandchildren: 13 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren 3 Step Grandchildren and 2 Step Great Grandchildren Sister: Betty Jones, Clay Center, KS Sister: Bertha Winter, Linn, KS Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Palmer, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Melba Smith. Burial will be at the St. Paul Cemetery, Palmer, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7 from 5-7pm at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Palmer, KS Memorials can be made to Velma Wilgers Memorial Fund c/o funeral home.
