Vergil Glenn Steffen

VERGIL GLENN STEFFEN, 91 died February 22, 2008 at the Leonardville Nursing Home, Leonardville, KS. He was born on March 20, 1916 in Clay County,KS the son of Theodore H. and Martha K. (Bryant) Steffen. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1935. Vergil married Bonnie Sanders on May 9, 1941. He farmed the Union Township and Uniondale Community until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the Uniondale Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William. Survivors: Wife: Bonnie Steffen, Wakefield, KS Son: Glenn Steffen, Wakefield, KS Son: Allen and his wife, Gwen Steffen, Wiggins, CO Grandchildren: Four grandchildren and Six Great-grandchildren Funeral Services: Wednesday,February 27, 2008 at 1:30 PM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Minister: Pastor C.W. Bloom Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation:3-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 4-6 PM. Memorials: may be made to the First Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
