Viola White

VIOLA WHITE died September 25, 2010 at Mercy Health Center College Ave, Manhattan, KS at the age of 77. She was born on April 3, 1933 in Skiddy, Kansas the daughter of Earl Mann and Bertha Sheritt. Viola married George White in 1949 in Council Grove, KS. They made their home in Ogden, KS moving to Wakefield, KS. in 1957. She was a Avon representative for over 20 years and worked at Ft. Riley in the Commissary and Laundromat. She attended Madura Congregational Church and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. She was preceded by a 2 daughters Joyce White and Jeanette McVaugh, 1 grandson and 3 sisters. Survivors include: Spouse: George White, Wakefield, KS Son: James and wife Marie White, Concordia, KS Son: Joe and wife Nancy White, Wakefield, KS Daughter: Betty White, Concordia, KS Daughter: Viola E. and husband Mike Kasarda, Fayetteville, NC Brother: Charles and wife Gayle Mann, Rogers, AR Brother: Edward Mann, Rogers, AR Grandchildren: Many grand and great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Wakefield Chapel in Wakefield, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Todd Britt. Burial will be at the Skiddy Cemetery, Skiddy, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Wakefield Funeral Chapel Memorials can be made to Viola White Memorial Fund to be designated later by the family
