VIOLET ANNA BLAKE died January 13, 2010 at Gran Villas, Clay Center, KS at the age of 89. She was born on November 10, 1920 in Clay County Kansas, the daughter of John and Bernice (Goodin) Schafer. She was raised in the Ebenezer community in Clay County. She graduated from CCCHS in 1939. She took normal training and taught at Broughton. Violet married Wilbur on August 5, 1945. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1993. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center and Ladysmith EHU. She is also preceded by a brother. Survivors include: Son: Keith and wife Mindy Blake, Clay Center, KS Son: Bruce and wife Warrene Blake, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 7 Grand and 6 Great-grand Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas . Officiating the service will be Rev James Byers. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. the family will greet friends from 4:30-6:00 PM. Memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church c/o the funeral home
