VIOLET “VI” SPURRIER, 95 died September 14, 2014 at Presbyterian Manor in Clay Center, KS. She was born on April 1, 1919 in Green, KS. The daughter of Art and Mable (Byarlay) Baker. Vi was raised in the Green community. She graduated from CCCHS in 1937. Vi married Edman "Bub" Spurrier on April 25, 1943. They made their home in Hayes and Goshen townships in Clay County. In 1992, they retired from farming and moved to Clay Center. Bub preceded her in death on April 15, 1994. Vi was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center and a charter Member of the Green H. E. U. She was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother. She is preceded in death by parents, two sister and one brother Survivors: Son: Tom and Wife Connie Spurrier, Clay Center,KS 2 Grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Rev. Scott Lingle and Drew Reding Burial will be in the Green Cemetery, Green , KS Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 3-8 PM atNeill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home Memorials: First Presbyterian Church c/o the funeral home
