Virginia Cameron, 85 died May 7, 2016 at Medicalodge in Clay Center, KS. She was born on June 24, 1930 in Riley County, Kansas. The daughter of Thomas Jones and Irene McCloskey. Virginia was raised in Riley County and graduated from CCCHS. She married Gene Cameron on April 12, 1950. They made their home in Clay Center. Virginia worked at Gilmore-Tatge for 17 years and worked at other community service projects. Gene preceded her in death on March 13, 1993. Virginia was a member of the First Baptist Church., B.P.O.E. and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Larry, her parents and two brothers, Larry and Howard Jones. Survivors: Daughter: Vickie and husband Danny Wynn, of Clay Center, KS Daughter: Kathleen and husband Rod Hafner, of Great Bend, KS Daughter: Sheila and husband Norman Backstrom, of Clay Center, KS Son: Jerry Cameron, of Clay Center, KS Daughter: Donna Cameron, of Clay Center, KS Sister: Eleanor Strauss, of Clay Center, KS 13 Grandchildren and 17 Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday May 11, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church in Clay Center KS Officiating the service will be Rev. Matthew Coleman Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 10, 2016 from 3-8PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home Memorials: Meadowlark Hospice or the organization of the donor’s choice
