VIRGINIA “GINGER” MAYES, 92 died October 30, 2015 at Medicalodge in Clay Center, KS. She was born on August 20, 1923 in Clay Center, Kansas. The daughter of Warren “Buck” and Viola (Miller) Tripp.
Ginger was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1941. She married Fred Mayes and he preceded her in death in 1966. The couple lived and worked in Lenexa before moving back to Clay Center in 1989. She attended the First Baptist Church of Clay Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.

Son: John and wife Valerie Mayes, Colorado Springs, CO
Son: Thomas and wife Dianna Mayes, Olathe, KS
5 Grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 11:00AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, KS
Officiating the service will be Rev. Matthew Coleman.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS.
There will be no respect calls.
Memorials may be made to Meadowlark Hospice or to CCARE (Clay County Animal Rescue and Education Center) and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
