WALTER MUGLER, 89 died March 12, 2016 at Presbyterian Manor in Clay Center, KS. He was born on February 10, 1927 in Clay County, KS, the son of Fred and Rosie (Weidner) Mugler. Walter was raised in the Ebenezer community and graduated from Clay County High School in 1945. He married Evelyn Heikes on June 6, 1951. They made their home and farmed in the Ebenezer community. In 1957, they moved to the Athelstane community and farmed until his retirement in 2008. Walter was a member of the Mizpah United Methodist Church, Industry Lions Club and Gideon's International. He served on the Clay County ASCS committee and state committee for Farm Bureau. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Velma Steinbach and sister in law, Marjorie Mugler. Survivors: Wife: Evelyn Mugler, Wakefield, KS Daughter: Janet and husband Neal Fowles, Olathe, KS Daughter: Carol and husband John Bosch, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Linda and husband Kelly Hammel, Manhattan, KS Brother: Rev. Paul Mugler, Salina, KS Brother: Herbert and wife L'Jeane Mugler, Clay Center, KS 6 Grandchildren, 1 Great-grandson Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Mizpah United Methodist Church in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Pastor Debra Tompsett-Welch Burial will be in Athelstane Cemetery, Clay County, KS Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 3-8 PM. the family will greet friends from 4-6 PM atNeill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home Memorials: Mizpah United Methodist Church, Gideon's international or Meadowlark Hospice c/o the funeral home
