Wayne Thomas Hammel died May 30, 2008 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay Center, KS at the age of 91. Wayne was born on March 18, 1917 in Clay County, KS the son of Clarence Hammel and Nellie Thompson.
He was raised in Clay County and attended Parallel Grade School. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Eva Noyes on May 2, 1948. He farmed in Clay County until retiring in 1981 when they moved to Clay Center. Eva preceded him in death on August 4, 1994. He married Jeane (Nelson) Hanson on February 17, 1996. She survives of the home. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He is also preceded by a sister.

Nieces: Konnie Evans, Kathy Isaacson, and Karen Gibson
Nephews: Loren and Lawrence Riek
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on will be held from 2-5 PM Sunday June 1, 2008 at the funeral home.
