Wayne Andrew Reed

WAYNE ANDREW REED died October 27, 2008 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the age of 86. Wayne was born on February 4, 1922 in Clay Center, Kansas, the son of Lester Reed and Mary Ann Oppenlander. He was a graduate of CCCHS. He was a community resource person for the Building Trades class at CCCHS. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He married Gloria Auchard on October 11, 1942 and she preceded him in death on February 22, 2006. He was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school and a past commander of the Clay Center American Legion. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Verna Perry. Survivors include: Son: David Reed, Little Rock, AR Daughter: Nancy Scott, Topeka, KS Daughter: Carolyn and husband, Richard Lichty, Duluth, MN Grandchildren: 3 Granddaughters 5 Great Granddaughters 1 Great Great Grandson Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Myers. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wayne Reed Memorial Fund to be designated later in care of the funeral home.
