Wendell Shane

WENDELL LEE SHANE died August 31, 2013 at , Clay Center, KS at the age of 81. He was born on June 24, 1932 in Mt Vernon. IL, the son of Clarence Shane and Hazel Elliot. Wendell was raised in Mt. Vernon, IL. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Wendell married Lela Harrison on August 13, 1953, she survives of the home. He was a pilot and worked on customizing cars. Wendell was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses for 56 years and a member of the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association. He is preceded in death by a son, David, 2 brothers and a sister. Survivors include: Wife: Lela Shane, Clay Center, KS Son: Dan Shane, Lincoln, NE Son: Mike and wife Vonda Shane, Alta Vista, KS 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Kingdon Hall in Clay Center KS.
