Wendell Volen

WENDELL VOLEN died February 14, 2008 at 1615 6th St, Clay Center, KS at the age of 95. He was born on April 4, 1912 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Carl and Eugenia (Lindberg) Volen. Wendell grew up and farmed in the Swedesburg Community. He married Mildred (Shepard) Courser in 1954 and she preceded him in 1983. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include: Son: Bob and wife Sue Courser, Hutchinson, KS Grandchildren: Three Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Glenn Tombaugh. Burial will be at the Swedish Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to may be made to Miltonvale Senior Citizen's Club in care of the funeral home.
