WESLEY G NORGAARD died February 24, 2010 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center,
KS at the age of 88. He was born on June 19, 1921 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin the son of Alfred
and Elvina (Olson) Norgaard. He was raised Eau Claire, WI and he attended the Wesleyan
Methodist College in Miltonvale. He married Margaret Dinsmore in 1940 at the family farm in
Ames, KS. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII. The couple moved to Clay Center in
1945. He was a rural mail carrier and helped his father in-law farm. He also drove for Goodyear
and painted houses. Margaret preceded him in death in 2001. He was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder and Sunday School Teacher and drove for church
mission trips from 1960-1990. He was a member of the American Legion, Jaycees, Clay Center
Masonic Lodge, Shriner's, and a former Clay Center Rotary member. He was also an Eagle
Scout Leader and helped at the Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan. He was a member of the Clay
County Democratic Party. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Catherine and one son,
Mark.

Daughter: Connie and husband David Norgaard Grimsby, Clay Center, KS
Brother: Ron and wife, Carol Norgaard, North Platte, NE
Sister: Janet and husband, Pastor Jerry Rott, FL
Brother: Nathan and wife, Nona Norgaard, Eau Claire, WI
Grandchildren: Three Grandsons, Steve, Colin and wife Ruth, and Tyler
Grandchildren: Four Great Grandchildren
Memorial Services will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian
Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers.
Visitation will be held on will be held from 2-5 PM Sunday, February 28 at the funeral home.
The family will greet friends from 2-3 PM.
Memorials can be made to may be made to the Wes Norgaard Memorial Fund to be designated
for Children's Charities.
