William "Bill" Gilbert, Jr

WILLIAM GILBERT, JR, 94 died March 24, 2015 at Nichol House in , . He was born on March 20, 1921 in Clay Center, KS. The son of William and Lillian (Nasman) Gilbert, Sr. Bill was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1939. He served in the US Army during WWII. Bill married Ione Charpie on April 21, 1946. He farmed in Clay and Washington Counties most of his life. Bill also worked in the shipping department for Hutchinson-Mayrath until he retired in 1986. He was a member of Faith United Church Presbyterian in Clifton and a 60 year member of the Palmer American Legion. He is preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law, Richard Anderson.
