WILLIAM ROY "BILL" SALTS, 75 died June 24, 2015 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. He was born on January 3, 1940 in Logan, IA, the son of Rolly and Evelyn (Williams) Salts. Bill moved to Beatrice, NE with his family. He worked on cars at the local junkyard while in high school. Bill served in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1977 as an Aircraft Mechanic. He was stationed in Massachusetts, Hawaii, California, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Newfoundland, Turkey, Labrador and served two tours in Viet Nam. Bill married Kay Bratt on February 4, 1960 in Beatrice, NE. They moved to Clay Center in 1977. Bill worked as a mechanic for Hutchinson Royal before he opened Bill's Garage in 1987. He also worked at 5 Creeks, AmerSeal and Hess Salvage. Bill was a member of the American Legion. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Bill Salts, Jr., brothers, Ben, Mike and Bob Salts, sister, Linda Lytle, granddaughter, Sarah Bishop and Great-granddaughter, Kirsten Corbett Survivors: Wife: Kay Salts, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Colleen and husband Earl Falk, San Antonio, TX Daughter: Janie and husband Esteban Montijo, Grand Prairie, TX Daughter: Michaela and husband Harvey Williams, Edmond, OK Daughter: Cheryl and husband Billy Young, Lawton, OK Daughter: Jessica and husband Brian Tholstrup, Clay Center, KS Sister: Shirley Cooper, Mission, TX Brother: Rolly Salts, Bloomfield, NE Sister: Janet Whitehead, Minneapolis MN Sister: Sis Sears, Oregon Sister: Daisy Shook, California Brother: Jim Salts, Broken Bow, NE 14Grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Pastor Grant Clay Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 3-8 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home Memorials: Bill Salts Memorial Fund c/o the funeral home
