WILLIAM A. LOVENDAHL, 72 died April 2, 2014 at Golden LivingCenter in Wakefield, KS.  He was born on February 10, 1942 in Cloud County, KS.  The son of  Albin and Alice (Peterson) Lovendahl.   Bill attended grade school Northeast of Clyde at Marcotte. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1960. He lived in Wichita and Topeka in 1961. In 1965, he moved to Arizona where he served in the Arizona National Guard until moving back to Kansas in 1967 to help on the family farm. He moved to Clay Center in 1984.  He farmed part time from 1967-1975 and worked at Gilmore-Tatge for 19 1/2 years. He then worked for Great Plains in Salina before becoming disabled. He was a member of American Legion Post #101 and held the offices of 1st Vice, Commander, Bar Chairman, and Post Adjutant.  He was also a member of V-660 of the 40/8 club, served as the director of Child Welfare for Grand du Kansas from 1995-1998.       Survivors: Sister Beverly Shaddy, Centerton, AR Sister: Shirley and husband Earl Geise, Denver, CO Sister: Marilyn and husband Larry Smith, Clay Center, KS Sister: Helen Gill, Sherman, TX Sister: Virginia and husband Steve Jones, Sherman, TX Sister: Gwen and husband Eddie Hillhouse, Edmond. OK Brother: Marc and wife Joan Lovendahl, Morganville, KSMany Nieces and Nephews   Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 10:30AM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, Kansas Officiating the service will be Gale Lund. Burial will be in theZion Lutheran Cemetery, Clyde, Kansas Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 9am until service time at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home. Memorials: may be made to Meadowlark Hospice and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
